What’s in a name?Jeroboam is a 300cc wine bottle, the equivalent of 4 normal wine bottles.
The event gets its name from the fact that the original Jeroboam was held in Franciacorta, the Italian region famous for its sparkling wine.
The 300km challenge matched the 300cc bottle, while the 150cc Magnum bottle and 75cc Standard bottle match their respective 150km and 75km rides.
What does "gravel" exactly mean? Originally it was a road surface. Then it became a type of bike capable of much more than just riding on gravel.
Now above all "gravel" is a way of cycling: discovering new places & people and the fun on the journey rather than just getting to the finish line fast.
Not only riding…
Not just riding, but also spending time with friends and other cycling enthusiasts.
Jeroboam events always feature an expo area and a space to socialize with good music and interesting stories.
Eat pasta ride fasta
Cycling means burning a lot of calories and we are not convinced an energy bar or gel is the best way to refuel.
Good food and lots of drink options never lack in the Jeroboam village.
Recovery and more
It is well known that there is no better cure for insomnia than a long ride.
To sleep like a baby, but also to fully experience the atmosphere of the event, you can pitch your tent in the camping area, free for all participants.
In 2017, the Jeroboam Bike Festival Franciacorta was held for the first time, blending exciting gravel routes with a great family atmosphere. In 2018 Jeroboam confirmed to be such a beautiful gravel experience in Europe that many people asked us to bring this atmosphere closer to their home. So this year Jeroboam is coming to three new countries: Switzerland, Czech Republic and Spain.
